Need a reliable plumber who actually shows up near Louetta area

I usually clear our minor drain clogs and swap out basic valves myself with my husband, but our main line cleanout near the back patio is backing up into the utility sink whenever the washing machine drains. I know my limits and I am tapping out. Called two local places off Google yesterday morning. One gave me a four hour window and never called or showed up, and the other said they could not get anyone out until late next week. Who do you ladies actually use around Spring and Klein who answers the phone, shows up when they say they will, and will not charge me a fortune just to snake a line?

Oh girl we had water pouring through the pantry ceiling two months ago during the boys bedtime chaos and I almost packed up and moved to a hotel. We called Bradbury Plumbing off Spring Cypress and he was at our house in under an hour. Did not even judge the state of my kitchen.

Twins. Yes really. No I do not sleep.

We have used Milton at Klein Plumbing since we built our home back in 1994. He retired a few years ago but his nephew took over the trucks and they still treat people right. They are based right off Kuykendahl near Cypresswood. If you call them in the morning, the receptionist will usually give you a reasonable two hour window instead of making you sit around all day waiting.

We always call Señor Gomez with AG Plumbing. He lives right over off Airtex and has done work for my mom, my sister, and two of my coworkers. Very honest man. He came out on a Saturday when our water heater started leaking and charged us so fairly. Mi esposo won't let anyone else touch our pipes.

Just a heads up on pricing since I tracked this in my household binder last fall when our secondary line clogged. Most decent places around here charge a standard dispatch fee between $49 and $89 just to roll the truck out, but good companies waive it if you agree to let them do the work. If anyone tries to charge over $120 just to step through your front door, hang up and call someone else.

Is $89 normal for a trip fee down here? Back home in Ohio our local guy never charged a service fee unless he stayed over an hour, so moving here was a total shock when our garbage disposal jammed. Sorry if that is a silly question, I am still getting used to how spread out everything is here.

Wren here. I cannot do the four hour waiting windows because I have client calls all day and a dog that barks if a leaf blows past the window. Here is who worked for me: 1. Abacus: Quick, but expensive. Good text alerts. 2. Bradbury: Showed up within 20 minutes of their estimated text. Tech texted me before knocking so I could mute my headset. 3. Independent guys: Hit or miss on timing, but cheaper. If you are on a schedule, stick with a place that sends live GPS tracking links to your phone.

Is AG Plumbing licensed with the state? I always check the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners site first after a bad experience with a handy worker off Nextdoor who melted a PVC pipe under our master sink.

Yes Rae, he is fully master licensed and insured! His license number is printed right on the side of his white truck. I would never recommend anyone who takes shortcuts with plumbing, water damage in Houston humidity is no joke.

Whoever you pick, make sure you ask for the first appointment of the day at 7:00 or 7:30 AM. That is the only way I can get plumbing sorted before I have to hit I-45 South for my drive to the Galleria. If you take an afternoon slot, traffic delays on Louetta always push their whole schedule back by two hours.

Thank you all so much. I just called Bradbury based on the multiple mentions here and they actually answered on the second ring. Got me on the schedule for tomorrow morning first thing so I do not have to mess up my work schedule or deal with the utility sink backing up again. I really appreciate the local advice!
