  • Spring ISD ratings jumped from D to C

The campus level reports are posted directly on the TEA accountability site if you search by district number. The district headquarters on Ella Blvd also has the public documents available. The 82 percent drop in failing campuses reflects progress across multiple levels, but Booker moving from an F to a B is what drove a lot of the elementary gains.

  • Spring ISD ratings jumped from D to C

Spring ISD officially announced the TEA 2026 accountability ratings on August 14. The district overall score rose 11 points, moving from a 65 up to a 76, which brings them from a D to a C. The most notable metric is that F-rated campuses dropped by 82 percent, going from 11 down to just 2. Booker Elementary went from an F rating straight to a B. If you want the full breakdown by campus instead of social media rumors, you can contact their central office at 16717 Ella Blvd or call 281-891-6000 for the official press release.

  • Parent teacher conference next week and i already know my son is struggling

If the teacher brings up academic or behavioral concerns that require targeted support, ask specifically if she is starting Tier 2 interventions under the MTSS framework. District guidelines require documented classroom strategies and progress monitoring before moving to formal team evaluations or Section 504 reviews. Check the Skyward family portal beforehand so you have his exact assignment grades and reading benchmark numbers in front of you. It keeps the conversation grounded in documented data rather than general impressions.

  • Best cut throughs to avoid kuykendahl and louetta around 7:30-8:15 am?

The signal synchronization at Kuykendahl and Louetta has been an open item with Harris County Precinct 3 since the lane expansion project wrap up. The left turn arrows are still on the temporary signal timing plan from last fall. If you take TC Jester down to Cypresswood as suggested, be aware that Pct 4 constables routinely sit in the church parking lot right before the bridge between 7:20 am and 8:00 am. Do not try to make up time on that stretch.

  • How do parents actually keep up with board meetings for Klein ISD and Spring ISD? is it worth going in person?

You do not need to attend in person unless you are signed up to speak during public comment. For Klein ISD, agendas are posted at least 72 hours before regular meetings on the district website under the BoardBook portal. Regular meetings are held at the Klein ISD Central Office facility on Spring Cypress Road. They stream the meetings live and post the recorded video along with official minutes afterwards. Read the action items on the agenda beforehand if you want to know what they are actually voting on. Most of it is routine business like purchase approvals and second readings of policy updates.

  • Renting vs buying in spring/klein right now? property tax question from a newbie!

The biggest mistake newcomers make is looking only at the ISD tax rate and ignoring the MUD district tax rate. In Harris County, two houses listed at the same price three miles apart can have wildly different annual tax bills because one is in an older established MUD with lower debt, and the other is in a newer district with a high MUD tax rate to pay for fresh infrastructure. Look up the specific tax accounts on the Harris Central Appraisal District website (hcad.org) for any address before you submit an offer. Look at the total tax rate, not just Klein ISD. And make sure you file for your homestead exemption as soon as you are eligible, because that caps the annual increase on assessed value for your primary residence.

  • Moving into klein isd next year and so confused about zoning and open transfers

Never trust Zillow or real estate listings for school district zoning in North Harris County. District boundaries were drawn decades ago and do not align with zip codes or postal addresses. Go directly to the Klein ISD website and use the official Address Locator tool. Type in the exact street number and name. Regarding transfers: Klein ISD operates under Board Policy FDA (Local). Transfers are dependent on facility capacity and staffing. Every year, usually early in the spring semester, the board reviews campus numbers and publishes a list of closed campuses that cannot accept transfers for the upcoming school year. If a campus is at or over capacity, transfers are automatically denied regardless of your reason. Check the current year board packet or call the district administration building on Spring Cypress Road to verify.

  • Can we get a dedicated pet / lost animal subforum?

Structure is definitely lacking on the current board index. The general section has become far too diluted, making searches inefficient. If a pet section is created, there should be pinned posting guidelines requiring cross streets and dates in the title. I would also support a subforum dedicated strictly to local business reviews so service recommendations stay organized.

  • Welcome to spring moms - standard ground rules and thread guidelines

Thank you for highlighting rule number three in particular. The number of posts spreading unverified rumors about district boundary changes or business closures before looking at official board agendas or public filings is exhausting. Checking primary sources saves everyone a lot of unnecessary panic.
