The most notable metric is that F-rated campuses dropped by 82 percent, going from 11 down to just 2. Booker Elementary went from an F rating straight to a B.     You do not need to attend in person unless you are signed up to speak during public comment. For Klein ISD, agendas are posted at least 72 hours before regular meetings on the district website under the BoardBook portal. Regular meetings are held at the Klein ISD Central Office facility on Spring Cypress Road. They stream the meetings live and post the recorded video along with official minutes afterwards. Read the action items on the agenda beforehand if you want to know what they are actually voting on. Most of it is routine business like purchase approvals and second readings of policy updates.

Look up the specific tax accounts on the Harris Central Appraisal District website (hcad.org) for any address before you submit an offer. Look at the total tax rate, not just Klein ISD. And make sure you file for your homestead exemption as soon as you are eligible, because that caps the annual increase on assessed value for your primary residence.

    Never trust Zillow or real estate listings for school district zoning in North Harris County. District boundaries were drawn decades ago and do not align with zip codes or postal addresses. Go directly to the Klein ISD website and use the official Address Locator tool. Type in the exact street number and name. Regarding transfers: Klein ISD operates under Board Policy FDA (Local). Transfers are dependent on facility capacity and staffing. Every year, usually early in the spring semester, the board reviews campus numbers and publishes a list of closed campuses that cannot accept transfers for the upcoming school year. If a campus is at or over capacity, transfers are automatically denied regardless of your reason. Check the current year board packet or call the district administration building on Spring Cypress Road to verify.

  • Can we get a dedicated pet / lost animal subforum?

    Structure is definitely lacking on the current board index. The general section has become far too diluted, making searches inefficient. If a pet section is created, there should be pinned posting guidelines requiring cross streets and dates in the title. I would also support a subforum dedicated strictly to local business reviews so service recommendations stay organized.

    Thank you for highlighting rule number three in particular. The number of posts spreading unverified rumors about district boundary changes or business closures before looking at official board agendas or public filings is exhausting. Checking primary sources saves everyone a lot of unnecessary panic.
