Storytime and concert at City Place in November?

Hi ladies, I saw there is a Childrens Storytime and Concert Series coming up on Thursday Nov 19 2026. It starts at 5:30 at The Plaza at City Place. They mention children theater storytime, face painting, and a concert. Anyone been to this one before? Wondering if its worth the drive for a toddler.

YES. We went to the last one and my boys ran until they literally collapsed. The lawn games are great for burning off that pre dinner energy.

I am planning our schedule for November now. 1. Is there a fee for the face painting? 2. How is the stroller parking situation near the plaza stage? 3. Does the concert start exactly at 5:30 or is that just the story portion?

If it is not in the spreadsheet it did not happen

Is the plaza near that big Marriott hotel? Sorry if thats a dumb question, I am still learning my way around here. Back in Ohio we had similar events but you had to pay for parking, is it free at 1250 Lake Plaza Dr? Sorry for all the questions!

Sarah, parking in the garages there is usually free for the first few hours but check the signs. Sam, if you are bringing a foster kiddo just a heads up the face painting line can get very long and overstimulating. I usually skip that part and head straight for the balloon artists.

Say yes, figure it out later

It is a very sweet event. My niños love the theater part. If you need a snack after, go see Mr. G at the taco stand nearby, he is the best.

I will be there passing out flyers for our winter bazaar! We really need volunteers for the gift wrapping station. It is a lot of work but so rewarding to see the kids smile. The City Place events are always well managed.

Volunteers wanted, always

Pam, what is the specific budget for the bazaar supplies this year? I might be able to help if I know the numbers.

In my opinion, the 5:30 to 7:30 PM window is a bit late for the newborns, but it is lovely for older babies who can sit on a blanket. The open air concert is not too loud usually. Just make sure to bring a jacket because it might actually be chilly by mid November.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I think we will try it out. If anyone sees a tired mom chasing a kid with a blue balloon that is probably me.
