Spring ISD STAAR EOC results out today

Saw the news local report this morning about the Spring ISD STAAR End of Course scores. They reported a 37 point jump overall in students at Meets and Masters grade level, which seems like a big leap compared to past years. Biology went up 25 points and Algebra I was up 16 points in students passing. My son is only seven so we are not at EOC testing yet, but living right off Louetta I hear so much back and forth about Spring ISD. Is this actual progress in the classroom or just heavy test prep?

I saw that report while getting my morning coffee! Good for them, honestly. A 25 point bump in Biology is huge. But let us be real, test scores swing around depending on how much time teachers spend teaching to the test versus actual subject depth. Over at Oak, our teachers were stressed about the online format changes a couple years back, so maybe Spring ISD just finally got their rhythm down with the portal setup.

It is not just teaching to the test when you are looking at a 37 point combined bump in Meets and Masters across an entire district. That takes actual structural changes in core subjects. If anyone here has a student in Spring ISD and needs to see their actual individual EOC scores right now, you can log into the Texas Assessment Family Portal with your child's access code. If you do not have the portal code, you have to call the district directly at (281) 891-6000 to get it. Do not rely on whatever paper report comes in the mail weeks from now, especially if you have high schoolers needing to plan for summer retests.

Algebra I EOC gave my twins gray hair last year and we are in Klein ISD. High school math test season is pure psychological warfare. If Spring ISD managed a 16 point jump in passing Algebra I, whoever is teaching ninth grade math over there deserves a massive gift card.

Amen to that, Tara. Private tutors around Cypresswood and Louetta charge $50 an hour minimum now for high school Algebra. If the school district is getting those passing rates up inside the classroom during regular hours, that saves parents a fortune in extra help. I will say though, double check your portal accounts like Jules mentioned. A mom in my neighborhood spent $15 trying to order a duplicate report from some shady third party site last year when all she had to do was call the district main line at 281-891-6000 for free.

* Typing fast between muted work calls while my dog barks at the mail truck. * The Spring ISD EOC local report came out June 24, 2026. * Data shows some of the strongest year over year gains in the Houston region. * Biology up 25 points. * Algebra I up 16 points in passing. * Combined 37 point increase at Meets and Masters level. Solid metrics for the area overall. Good momentum for local property values too, even for those of us right on the boundary line.

Glad to hear about the progress in Biology, my niece attends high school in Spring ISD and loved her science teacher this year.
