Old Town Spring Home for the Holidays starts soon?

Hey everyone. I saw the signs going up for the 46th Annual Home for the Holidays Festival in Old Town Spring. Does anyone know the exact opening weekend yet? I know it is usually mid-November through Christmas but I am trying to bid for my vacation days at the hospital now. I remember they have a snow play area and food trucks so I really want to take the kids before it gets too packed in December.

It is usually the weekend before Thanksgiving but I would check the Visitors Bureau at 281-288-2355 to be sure. Just a warning that traffic on Main St is going to be a nightmare. If you go on a Saturday at 10 AM you might beat the worst of it but honestly Sundays are better since they do not open until 11 AM.

Does anyone know which food trucks will be there this year? Last time there were a few that served nuts and I worried about cross contamination in the seating areas. I always tell people to call ahead to the festival organizers because the vendor list changes every year. I would not trust the shared tables if your kids have severe allergies.

Ava, I think I saw the list and it is mostly the same ones as last year. My kids loved the lights and the live entertainment last time. If you need a break from the crowds, go see Mr. Garcia at the little shop near the corner, he is so sweet to the kids. Es una tradicion for us every year now.

I am just wondering if they fixed the boardwalks near 403 Main St. Last year I saw so many moms struggling with strollers on the uneven wood. If you are going, check your stroller wheels first. I had to use some Gorilla Glue on my plastic wheel lock after that gravel path near the back lot. If the frame is bent just buy a new one, do not bother fixing the cheap ones.

The Klein ISD calendar has that mid-November weekend open for most of the sports teams so I am hoping to carpool with some other Gleannloch moms. The festival hours are 10 to 6 on Saturdays and 11 to 5 on Sundays. We usually try to leave by 3 PM to avoid the sun setting and the biggest crowds. It is such a lovely way to start the season.
