Oh Beck, I completely agree! High school costs add up so fast, so seeing the students take ownership of a project like that is so neat. My girls are still in elementary dance, but I am already dreading the high school fundraising years. We drove down Frassati Way again this morning on the way to HEB on Spring Cypress and I kept pointing towards the athletic fields to see if the new poles were up yet!

- Did anyone else see the senior class gift project at Frassati?
We were driving back from soccer practice over at Meyer Park on Tuesday night and my husband decided to take the back way past Frassati Way instead of getting stuck on TC Jester. Anyway! I noticed they were doing work near St. Michael the Archangel Field. A friend of mine whose daughter is a senior there told me the Class of 2026 senior class fundraiser was for their class gift, and they are putting in new flagpoles for the Texas flag and the Vatican flag next to the American flag out by the football field. I think they already hit over 90 percent of their ten thousand dollar goal during back to school month in August. I just think it is so sweet when senior classes do something permanent for their campus!

This is all so helpful, thank you so much everyone! I am looking up the McWilliams Y and i9 websites right now while the kids are eating dinner. Crossing my fingers we can do a Saturday only schedule so my calendar does not implode!

Oh wow Brit, practice right before the game on Saturday sounds like a dream! I do not think my sanity could take another weeknight pickup run across town with dance carpool happening at the exact same time. Is i9 played at Meyer Park too or do they use school fields?

Okay ladies I need some crowd sourced wisdom! My seven year old came home this week insisting he wants to play soccer or maybe basketball after kicking a deflated ball around in the mud in our backyard for three hours straight! He had dirt behind his ears and was so proud of himself. But I am absolutely not ready to dive into a intense select league where we are driving across the state every weekend or practicing four nights a week. Dance schedule for my girls is already crazy enough! What are the best local low pressure rec options around Spring or Klein where a beginner can just figure out if he actually likes the sport?

Oh girl I feel your pain so much! Last spring I tried selling my daughter's old balance bike right when dance recital rehearsals started and it was utter chaos! This lady swore up and down she was on her way from Tomball so I waited at home instead of running my quick errand to Target, and then she just ghosted me completely! Now if someone flakes once I just move right down the line. Life is way too busy to sit around waiting when you have kids running in three different directions!

- Where do you take out of town family when they visit for a weekend?
Oh my gosh, I love when family visits! My parents were just here last month right in the middle of dance picture week and soccer practice, so my house was pure chaos with my son tracking mud across the rug after practice off Spring Cypress! But we had so much fun taking them out. Our absolute favorite spot to take out of town guests is Mercer Botanic Gardens off Aldine Yost! It is so gorgeous and peaceful for a morning walk. The paved paths are super easy for older parents to walk on, and there are so many shade trees. Plus it is free, which is such a nice bonus when you have a big group!
