Anyone doing the Old Town Spring Black Friday crawl this year?

I saw that the Black Friday Historic Shopping Crawl in Old Town Spring is set for Friday Nov 27 2026. It starts at 9 AM and I was thinking about taking my girls for the music and holiday lights since we have family in town. Has anyone gone recently? I want to support the independent shops instead of just doing Amazon this year.

Class of this year, finally

The traffic getting into the district that morning will be a mess. If you are not parked by 8:45 AM forget it. The main lots fill up fast and the back streets get tight.

Be careful with strollers on those wood boardwalks. I had a wheel get stuck in a gap last year and almost snapped the frame on my UPPAbaby Vista. Some of the shops are tiny so you might have to leave the big gear outside if it gets crowded.

The shops usually have really nice local promotions during the crawl and the open air music is lovely. Just remember some places might have different hours than others even if the event starts early. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes because those gravel paths are no joke for your feet.

It can be a bit overwhelming for some kids because of the noise and the crowds. In my opinion it is better to go early and leave before the afternoon rush. It is a nice way to get outside but just keep an eye on your little ones near the street.

We should try to get a group together to represent our local schools while we shop! It is a lot of walking but the holiday lights are so worth it for the photos. I am still looking for volunteers for the winter carnival but I might take a break to come down for this.
