Anyone going to the Autumn Antique and Artisan Market next month?

I saw a flyer for the market on Main Street on Saturday Nov 7. It says there are over 100 dealers with vintage finds and jewelry. Has anyone been to this specific one since I am new to the area? I am wondering if it is worth bringing the kids or if it gets too packed for a double stroller.

New address, same chaos

We usually try to go early because the street is closed to cars which makes it safer. I have to check the Klein ISD calendar for sports but I think we are free until the afternoon carpool starts for the soccer scrimmage.

The crowd usually peaks around noon. I always grab a lavender latte and a scone before I even start looking at the architectural salvage booths. It is a lot of walking so wear good shoes.

The jewelry at this one is actually really good, lots of estate pieces. I heard one of the coaches wives found a vintage brooch there last year. The Panthers have a home game that night so I have to be fast.

The event runs from 10 AM to 5 PM. Main Street will be blocked off completely for the booths.

We use events like this for a field trip on Texas history and local commerce. If you are worried about strollers, the street closure helps but the shop entrances in Old Town Spring are very narrow. I have a list of historical markers in the area if you want to make it educational for your little ones. We never skip the artisan makers section because it shows the kids how small businesses work.

Just watch where you park your stroller near the planters. People love to toss trash in the decorative pots and it ruins the seasonal flowers. Also, it is usually still humid in early November so dont dress the kids in heavy sweaters yet.

If you have questions about the specific artisan lineup you should call (281) 288-2355. I think Brenda at the visitor center handles the vendor list this year so she would know for sure.

That phone number is very helpful. I will call to see if they have a map of the vendors so I can plan my route around the kids nap times.
